Principal’s message
“The seeds of education sown today will bear the fruits of tomorrow’s wisdom and innovation.”
– Raja Rammohan Roy
It is with great pride and a deep sense of responsibility that I welcome you to the Raja Rammohan Roy Government Primary Teachers’ Training Institute. Established on 16th October 1968, under the Government Order G.O. Number 1087-EDN(P), Dated-16/10/1968, the institute has been a pioneer in shaping future educators, empowering them with the knowledge and skills required to nurture young minds.
Situated at the birthplace of Raja Rammohan Roy, one of India’s foremost social reformers and educators, this institution carries forward his legacy of progressive thinking, social justice, and educational enlightenment. As an institute affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Primary Education and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of teacher education.
Our mission is to train dedicated, skilled, and compassionate teachers who can inspire and lead students toward academic excellence, personal growth, and social responsibility. We believe that education is not just about imparting knowledge, but about nurturing values, critical thinking, and the ability to contribute positively to society.
At this institution, we aim to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment where future educators can explore their potential, hone their teaching skills, and prepare to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world. We take pride in our rich legacy and the role we play in shaping the future of education in our state and beyond.
Let us continue to follow the path laid by Raja Rammohan Roy, whose vision for a just and enlightened society was deeply rooted in the belief that education is the most powerful tool for social transformation. Together, we strive to build a better tomorrow, one student and one teacher at a time.
